(COVID-19)

The safety and security of our guests and employees remains our highest priority. We are doing everything we can to ensure your travel safety and provide maximum flexibility as the situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve.

We will continue to update this page with the latest information regarding booking flexibility and travel safety.

Greater Flexibility for New and Existing ReservationsUpdated as of July 1, 2020

In order to provide you with greater travel flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic, Iris Island Eco Resort has introduced a more flexible cancellation policy applying to guests booking for our coming next season (November 1, 2020 to May 30, 2021).

As stay-at-home orders lift and travel resumes, our team is excited to welcome you to our resort. At the same time, we know your plans may continue to change, so we have made your reservations even more flexible.

You can now book in advance any dates for the coming season with absolutely no risk and with our assurance that any advance payments or deposits will be returned to you without penalties should your situation not allow you to get here.

For any reservations made from now for any stays during the next coming season (November 1, 2020 to May 30, 2021) you may now change or cancel any reservation, without penalty, as long as you do so at least 7 days before your scheduled arrival date. This includes reservations described as “non-cancellable” or Advance Purchase.

If you cancel a rate which required an advance payment or deposit, we will do everything we can to process your refund as quickly as possible.

Health and HygieneUpdated as of July 1, 2020

During the entire pandemic, Palawan, which has a very low population in relation to the rest of the Philippines, has to this day had less than 10 cases of corona virus, so it has been one of the safest places on earth to travel.

Iris Island Eco Resort is situated on its very own small island, away from the mainland of Busuanga, and accessible only with our boat shuttle. The island resort already ensures maximum social distancing with only 8 villas on the entire island, 2 guests per villa and a maximum capacity of less than 20 guests in total on the island. There is no better place in the Philippines to spend your vacation while ensuring your health and safety during these challenging times.

Despite this low number of guests and high level of social distancing, we have still implemented the following health and hygiene measures for your maximum safety:

  • Mandatory forehead temperature measurements will be made on each person on arrival at reception
  • All staff including boatmen, housekeeping, reception, maintenance and restaurant staff will wear face masks at all times when around guests.
  • Regular disinfection of all premises, boat shuttles, rooms, spa, restaurant and common areas
  • All chairs, lounge chairs and hammocks disinfected between users
  • All masks, fins and snorkels disinfected thoroughly between users (we strongly recommend you bring your own)
  • All kayaks and paddleboards wiped and disinfected between users
  • Each villa thoroughly disinfected, including bathrooms and toilet before your arrival.
  • Our buffet meals in the restaurant will all have covered lids, restaurant staff will have face masks at all times and there will be no self-service but guests instead will be served personally to allow for better contactless dining
  • There will be a minimum of 2 meter distance between all tables in the restaurant and adequate social distancing will be arranged and enforced in all seating areas and lounging areas on the island
  • Public toilets will be sanitized and disinfected with increased frequency.
  • Hand sanitizers will be located in every villa, at reception, spa, restaurant and common areas
  • Massage tables will be thoroughly disinfected between users and massage therapists will wear face masks at all times and sanitize their hands frequently
  • Water filter dispensers and glasses in your villa will be thoroughly sanitized before each incoming guest arrival
  • A safety seal on each villa will indicate to guests that rooms have not been accessed since they were cleaned
  • No staff is allowed to enter and show you your room unless they are housekeeping staff and only during cleaning or exceptional circumstances
  • Extra disinfection on high touch areas in your villa including light switches, door knobs, and taps
  • Disinfection of outdoor gym facilities with increased frequency
  • All our staff will be equipped and trained in ensuring the highest levels of health and hygiene protocols.
